Charlotte Harrison is an Associate Lecturer and Course Leader for the PGCE Secondary Music program at the Sheffield Institute of Education, part of Sheffield Hallam University's College of Social Sciences and Arts. She holds a BA in Music with English from the University of Sunderland (2013), a PGDE in Secondary Music and an MA in Education from Nottingham Trent University. Since qualifying as a Secondary Music teacher in 2016, she has led curriculum reforms in Music across multiple schools in Nottinghamshire, Derby, and Derbyshire, focusing on Years 7-11 and expanding into sixth-form provision. Her roles have included DofE Leader, Head of House, ArtsMark Lead, and Assistant Head of PE & Performing Arts.
Charlotte has mentored students from ITE institutions, including Teach First and pre-career PGCE candidates, and was appointed Course Leader for PGCE Music at Sheffield Hallam in 2024. Her teaching expertise spans modules like 'Reflecting on Professional Practice' and 'Exploring Pedagogical Practices in Secondary Education.'
