Charlie Andrews is a Professor of Organ and Organ Co-ordinator at the Royal College of Music (RCM), as well as Liturgical Organist of the Temple Church in London. He holds roles in both academic and performance spheres, specializing in organ performance and historical repertoire.
Education: Studied at the RCM with mentors David Graham, Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin, John Barstow, and John Blakely, supported by a Douglas & Kyra Downie Award. Earned the Harold Darke Memorial Prize for organ.
Research & Performance: Focuses on liturgical and classical organ repertoires, including works by Henry Walford Davies and George Thalben-Ball (former Temple Church Organists). Recent projects include recordings of their compositions and recitals in Finland and Germany. Collaborates with the Temple Church Choir, whose performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, including the premiere of Kenneth Hesketh’s Carmina tempore viri (Ivor Novello Award-nominated).
