Charles Gabriel serves as a Visiting Lecturer in the Music Department of the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, while also maintaining faculty positions at the Community Music Center of Boston.
He earned a Master of Music in Modern American Music Performance from the Longy School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Composition (cum laude) from Berklee College of Music.
His research and pedagogical focus centers on Bass Guitar technique, Music Theory, and Jazz Ensemble direction, supported by an active freelance career spanning jazz, blues, electronic, and orchestral performance contexts across New England.
At UMass Lowell, he directs the Jazz Lab & Ensemble Performance groups and provides studio bass instruction, building on mentorship from Donald Palma and Charlie Banacos. His professional output includes the 2005 debut album "Blueprints" released through Creative Nation Music Productions.
