Chantal Verdeil

Chantal Verdeil is a Professor at INALCO (National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations) in Paris, affiliated with the Arabic Studies department, where she previously served as director. She earned her doctorate in History and a degree in literary Arabic from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.

• Research focuses on the contemporary history of the Middle East and the evolution of educational systems in the Ottoman and post-Ottoman world.

Her publications examine themes such as missionary education, cultural transitions, and historical narratives in the Arab world.
