About
Dr. Chandan Bose is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Birmingham, UK. Prior to this, he was a Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Vortex Interaction Laboratory, University of Edinburgh, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Liege, Belgium. His research spans computational fluid dynamics, nonlinear aeroelasticity, bio-inspired fluid-structure interaction, and vortex dynamics.

Dr. Bose's work focuses on unsteady aerodynamics, fluid-structure interaction, and data-driven reduced-order modeling. He explores bio-inspired solutions for microdrone design, vortex dynamics in porous structures, and nonlinear phenomena in flapping wings. His projects integrate high-fidelity simulations and experimental validations.
Recent research trends include chaotic wake control in flapping foils, flow-induced vibrations, and energy harvesting from vortex interactions. He has contributed to 50+ peer-reviewed publications and leads projects funded by The Royal Society, EPSRC, and the British Council.
