Chadwick Allen is a Russell F. Stark University Professor and Associate Vice Provost for Academic Personnel and Faculty at the University of Washington. He leads the Inclusive Excellence initiative, promoting faculty diversity and equity aligned with the university’s Diversity Blueprint. His research focuses on Trans-Indigenous literary studies, Native American and Oceanic literatures, postcolonial theory, and US western literature.

His scholarship explores Indigenous self-representation through books such as Earthworks Rising (2022) and Trans-Indigenous (2012), as well as co-editing The Society of American Indians and Its Legacies (2013). He served as editor of Studies in American Indian Literatures (2012-2017) and president of NAISA (2013-2014). He co-founded the Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies (CAIIS) at UW in 2018.
His work bridges literary analysis with activism, emphasizing global Indigenous perspectives and frontier/postcolonial studies.
