Celine Harion Zipfel is an Assistant Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics, affiliated with the Mistra Centre for Sustainable Markets (Misum). Her research focuses on applied microeconomics, particularly development, labor, and family economics, with an emphasis on fertility transitions, women’s employment choices, and social mobility in sub-Saharan Africa. She also explores gender dynamics within households and their impact on labor market disparities.
She teaches an MSc elective course in Development Economics at SSE. Her current projects include a case study on Kenya’s flower exports sector and comparative analyses of gender gaps in both low- and high-income countries. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics.
