Celia Sinnott

Celia Sinnott is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chester's School of Nursing and Midwifery, within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She is based at University Centre Birkenhead, Marriss House. Her teaching focuses on pre-registration nursing programs, including ethics, law, cardiovascular disease, and study skills. She is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council since 2009 and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2011.

Education includes a BSc (Hons) in Professional Practice (2000), Masters in Education (2009), and Masters of Professional Studies (2019), all from the Universities of Liverpool and Chester. Her research interests include feminist issues affecting student nurse mothers in higher education and cardiovascular disease's lived experience. She previously worked as a registered nurse in cardiology and ophthalmics across primary/secondary care, including 15 years in coronary care units.

Teaching activities include the Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) program and pre-registration courses. Professional activities include roles as a Cardiovascular Training Facilitator and Coronary Heart Disease Lead in NHS trusts. Her work emphasizes inter-professional collaboration, evident in her conference presentation on student enrichment programs (2011).
