Celeste Homan

Celeste Homan is an Associate Professor in the Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine department at Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), where she has taught since 2002. With a Master of Science in Engineering and a Doctor of Acupuncture, her interdisciplinary background bridges Western scientific rigor with East Asian medicine.

Her research focuses on clinical reasoning, foundational theory, and integrative health approaches, emphasizing the mind-body-emotion connection through qi awareness. She has contributed to publications on acupuncture diagnostics and divergent channel treatments for chronic conditions.

Dr. Homan has received student-selected teaching awards for her innovative methods, including the use of qi-based teaching. She actively participates in faculty governance through the faculty senate, faculty welfare committee, and curriculum development.
