Cedric Tai is an un-disciplinary artist and Lecturer at Otis College of Art and Design, born in Detroit and currently based in Los Angeles (Tongva/Chumash/Kizh land). His practice spans sculpture, writing, performance, and experimental exhibitions, focusing on neurodivergent experiences, labor politics, and mental health advocacy.
- Education: BFA and K-12 teaching certification from Michigan State University; MFA from Glasgow School of Art
Tai's conceptual work intersects with disability justice, anti-capitalist solidarity, and somatic therapy collaborations. He co-created the Glass Material Library to demystify kiln glass alchemy and promote accessible material experimentation. His Brixels project explores participatory public art through brick pixelation.
