Cecil Slaughter is a Professor of Practice in Dance and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Performing Arts Department at Washington University. He is a choreographer, dancer, and actor with extensive professional experience, including fourteen years with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. He founded The Slaughter Project (2004–2015) and currently leads the WUDance Collective, a student dance company.

Research focuses on Lester Horton Modern Dance Technique and Contemporary Jazz Dance.
