Catherine Mutune is a second-year Master’s Student in Interdisciplinary Studies at York University and a Faculty Fellow at the Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on the African Diaspora in the Americas and Europe.

Her SSHRC-funded project critically examines social, economic, and political integration challenges faced by these women under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWK), drawing from her personal experiences as an African immigrant navigating cultural dualities and belonging.
