Catherine Losier

Catherine Losier is an Associate Professor and Undergraduate Officer in Archaeology at Memorial University. Her research examines colonialism, cultural interactions, and economies in French colonies across the Americas, including Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, French Guiana, and the Caribbean. Funded by a SSHRC-Insight Grant, her project 'On the Cod Road' investigates peripheral French territories' impact on Atlantic maritime networks (17th-19th centuries).

Publications analyze Basque cultural landscapes, ceramic identities, and economic fluctuations in colonial contexts. She emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches combining archaeology with historical narratives.
