Catherine Lewis

Dr. Catherine Lewis is a Professor of History and Associate Vice Provost at Kennesaw State University, overseeing the Library System, Museums, Archives & Rare Books. With a B.A. from Emory University and M.A./Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, she has curated over 40 exhibits and secured grants from the U.S. State Department, Marcus Foundation, and National Trust for Historic Preservation. She received the 2021 'Outstanding Service to the Museum Profession' award from the Southeastern Museums Conference.

Her research spans:

• World War II and Holocaust studies
• Public history and museum studies
• African-American and women’s history
• Sport and business history

Her 15 books demonstrate a shift from early U.S. historical themes (e.g., segregation, presidential culture) toward contemporary leadership and documentary projects. Recent publications emphasize business resilience, philanthropy, and archival storytelling.
