Catherine Dolan is Professor of Anthropology at SOAS University of London, specializing in global capitalism's moral economies across Africa. She convenes the MA in Anthropology of Global Futures and Sustainability, drawing on 20+ years advising the World Bank, UNICEF, and national governments.
Her ethnographic research examines ethical capitalism in informal economies, with current projects analyzing 'pressure' in East African cities and market inclusion's aftermath in Addis Ababa, Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi. Dolan co-directs the Oxford Food Governance Group and edits the 'Business, Finance & International Development' book series. She previously held positions at Oxford and Northeastern University.
