Catarina I. Reis

Catarina I. Reis is a Professor at the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) of the Polytechnic of Leiria since 2002, teaching advanced software engineering, agile methodologies, software quality, and object-oriented programming. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a postgraduation in Strategic Management.

Dr. Reis specializes in cutting-edge research areas including mHealth applications, Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies, cross-platform Mobile Development (Android/iOS), and Agile Software Development Practices. Her work bridges theoretical innovation with practical implementation in software systems.

As a professional leader, she serves as Senior Member of IEEE, Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch at Polytechnic of Leiria, Chair of IEEE Blockchain Working Group (Portugal R8), and Co-Chair for Community Development/Outreach of IEEE Blockchain Initiative. Her technical credentials include Professional Scrum Master certification and ISTQB Foundation Level certification in software testing.
