Casey Watters is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law at Bond University, having joined in 2020 after previous positions at the University of Nottingham and Singapore Management University. His research focuses on corporate law and insolvency, examining challenges in protecting debtor and creditor rights across jurisdictions with inconsistent legal regimes.
Education includes a PGCHE from the University of Nottingham (2019), PhD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, JD from University of California's Hastings College of the Law, and BA from Washington State University Vancouver.
Research interests center on corporate insolvency, personal bankruptcy, cross-border insolvency, blockchain technology, and comparative legal analysis. His work explores corporate law challenges in multi-jurisdictional contexts.
Available to supervise HDR students in corporate law and insolvency, particularly welcoming comparative research focused on China and East Asia.
