Carrie Chen (she/her) is an artist, educator, and community organizer based in Los Angeles. She currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California's Media Arts + Practice program, where she teaches Advanced Visual Communication, and as a Lecturer in 3D Arts at The New School's Parsons Design & Technology. Her academic background includes an MFA in Design Media Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a dual BS in Applied Psychology and Art History from New York University (NYU).
Chen's work explores hybridity, representation, time, and memory through CGI animation, game engine simulation, and projection installation. She draws on non-Western ontologies and narratives to interrogate intercultural identity and ancestry. Her practice engages with the 'Productive Uncanny,' examining social behavior, digital bodies, and the intersection of culture and technology.

Chen has exhibited internationally at STRP Festival (Netherlands), Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art (Sweden), and New Wight Gallery (USA), among others. She has also organized video art screenings and held talks at CalArts, Otis College of Art and Design, and X Museum. Her creative direction includes leadership at Spectra Studio and design commissions for OVO Sound, Epitaph Records, and David Zwirner.
