Carolyn Podruchny

Carolyn Podruchny is a University Professor in the Department of History at York University, affiliated with the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. Her research focuses on Indigenous-French colonial encounters, Metis history, and fur trade studies. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and has held roles as co-editor of the Journal of the Canadian History Association and Histoire sociale / Social History.

Publications: Notable works include Making the Voyageur World (2006), Contours of a People (2012), and Gathering Places (2010). She co-edits series with McGill-Queen’s University Press.

Service: Served on committees for the Canadian Historical Association, American Society for Ethnohistory, and GRASAC. Active in editorial boards for journals like Histoire sociale.
