Carmen Quint is a Dutch Visiting Fellow at QUT's Digital Media Research Centre, collaborating with A/Prof Michael Dezuanni. She holds a Bachelor's in Communication Science and a Research Master’s in Behavioural Science from Radboud University (Nijmegen). Her research focuses on children’s engagement with news media, including consolation strategies in children’s news programs, advertising literacy, and cognitive processes influencing media consumption. Currently, she investigates news media literacy among young Australians using eye-tracking technology to study attention mechanisms in online environments.
Her work bridges developmental psychology and media studies, emphasizing how children navigate and interact with news content in digital spaces. While affiliated with QUT, she contributes to the 'Advancing the news media literacy of young Australians' project, aiming to improve educational strategies for youth media engagement.
