Carlos Reis

Carlos Reis is a Full Professor at the University of Coimbra and Rector of the Open University of Portugal (Universidade Aberta). His academic career includes visiting professorships at the University of Salamanca, University of Wisconsin-Madison (Tinker Visiting Professor), University of Santiago de Compostela, University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth (Endowed Chair Professor), Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), and the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

• President of the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities

His research focuses on narrative studies, works of Eça de Queirós, and Portuguese literature.
