Carlo Rafele is a Full Professor at the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) at the Polytechnic University of Turin. He serves as Scientific Contact of the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe (ALICE) and has coordinated the Management Engineering College since 2021. Previously, he directed the Master's and Continuing Education School at the Polytechnic University of Turin from 2014 to 2019.
His research spans healthcare logistics, supply chain management, project management, and Logistics 4.0. He specializes in lean logistics and automation, project cost control, and healthcare flow management, with particular focus on hospital material management systems. His work addresses critical challenges in sustainable cities, responsible consumption, and industry innovation as aligned with multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Professor Rafele supervises PhD students working on digital twins for warehouse systems and Industry 4.0 implementation in supply chains. His work includes extensive collaborations with healthcare organizations, particularly in optimizing pharmaceutical and medical device logistics.
He is associated with the Project Management Lab (PM Lab) and Logistics Lab (Log Lab), where his team develops innovative tools and methods for logistics and supply chain management, with special expertise in healthcare, urban, and industrial logistics.
