Carlo Cocozza

Carlo Cocozza is a Research Fellow in the Domestication and Anthropogenic Evolution Research Group at the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology, Jena, Germany.

His research focuses on domestication processes and anthropogenic evolution, examining how human societies have shaped biological and ecological systems over millennia through interdisciplinary approaches combining archaeology, evolutionary biology, and earth sciences. This work investigates long-term human-environment dynamics and the co-evolutionary trajectories of species under anthropogenic influence.

As a core member of the DAE Research Group, Dr. Cocozza contributes to projects analyzing Holocene-era human impacts on biodiversity and landscapes, with implications for understanding the historical roots of the Anthropocene and contemporary sustainability challenges.
