Carla Guedes is an invited Assistant Professor at the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto and serves as Lab Manager at the Research Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research (TBIO). She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine of Porto, alongside a Master’s in Clinical Analyses and Public Health (Microbiology and Public Health) and a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences from the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. Her research focuses on experimental neurodegeneration biology, particularly neuroinflammation’s role in Parkinson’s disease progression and the gut-brain axis’s involvement. She previously conducted virology, molecular biology, and microbiology research at PORTIC, Porto Polytechnic Institute.
