Carl Kovelowski

Carl Kovelowski is an Assistant Professor of Medical Sciences at Quinnipiac University. He teaches in the first and second-year medical curriculum, specializing in histology, cell biology, physiology, neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and gross anatomy.

• Education: BA in Neuropsychology from Temple University, PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Arizona, MD from St. George's University

His research focuses on opioid pharmacology, pain circuitry in the central nervous system, and the role of microglia in Alzheimer's disease progression. He has reimagined medical curriculum delivery by developing impactful modules to reinforce content and is currently exploring integration of pathology into first-year medical education.

His clinical exposure to neurodegenerative disorders informs both his teaching and research practices.
