Christopher Ball

Christopher Ball is an Associate Professor of Economics and Director of the Central European Institute (CEI) at Quinnipiac University, holding the Istvan Szechenyi Chair in International Economics. He also serves as Honorary Hungarian Consul for Connecticut, promoting business ties with Hungary. His academic career spans since 2003, with a Ph.D. in International Macroeconomics from Texas A&M University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Ball's research focuses on international macroeconomics, monetary policy, transition economies, and Central European development. His work includes analyzing populism’s economic impacts, inflation targeting regimes, and small open economies. He has written for outlets like the New York Times and Cato Regulation Magazine.

Ball co-founded CEENET LLC, ArenaCAD USA, and www.InvestCEE.com, and previously held executive roles at Light Sources Inc. He teaches courses such as Intermediate Macroeconomics and Game Theory. His professional engagements include fostering partnerships with institutions like Corvinus University of Budapest and hosting forums on geopolitical issues like the Ukraine crisis.
