Francesca Carion is an Associate at the National Research Council's Institute for Research on Innovation and Services for Development (CNR-IRISS), collaborating on the project 'Place-based approaches for rebalancing anthropogenic pressures on the consolidated city' (DUS.AD013.040.009). She is a PhD candidate in PON Innovation at the Department of Cultural Heritage, University of Campania 'Luigi Vanvitelli', focusing on generative change in social innovation processes for urban regeneration strategies. Her academic background includes a Master’s in Visual Arts (IUAV University of Venice) with a focus on political and participatory art, and a 2nd-level Master’s in Urban Regeneration via Social Innovation (Urise, IUAV Venice). Professionally, she has worked in Sicily’s Agrigento province supporting local urban regeneration initiatives and founded the association 'Niutopia_nuovi luoghi comuni' in 2021 to design urban/social regeneration strategies. Her research interests emphasize sustainable urban development, participatory methodologies, and the intersection of art and civic engagement in community-driven projects.
