Emanuele Rinaldo Meschini

Emanuele Rinaldo Meschini is a Junior Assistant Professor (fixed-term) at the University of Bologna's Department of the Arts. His work focuses on the intersection of artistic practices and social movements, with emphasis on urban studies, participatory art, and organized fandom. He co-founded the collective Autopalo, exploring participatory art through football. His research includes Italian urban art interventions and U.S. socially engaged art history.

His current research investigates Cultural Departments in Argentine multi-sports clubs, focusing on Buenos Aires. He has authored critical essays like Come leggere il monumento o la sua rimozione (2023) and published in journals such as Comunicazioni Sociali and FIELD. His curatorial work includes exhibitions at international venues and roles at Node Center and ZK/U in Berlin.

Research Interests: Public art recontextualization, political activism dynamics, performance studies, gender studies, and digital/hacking spheres in art.

Teaching: Adjunct lecturer at Iuav University of Venice, focusing on culture-led urban regeneration.
