Camilo Jauregui Rubio

Camilo Jauregui Rubio serves as a Part-Time Instructor in the Music Department at Waynesburg University, based in the Benedum Fine Arts Center. He concurrently holds roles as Percussion Instructor at Carnegie Mellon University's Kiltie Band, Percussion Teacher at Waynesburg University, and Percussion Instructor at South Fayette High School. Additionally, he performs with the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra and West Hill Symphonic Band.

His educational background includes a Master's in Music from Corpas University and ongoing studies in Musicology at the University of La Rioja, Spain. He holds dual bachelor's degrees in Percussion Performance and Conducting.

Jauregui's global pedagogical experience includes teaching at institutions like the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (Kabul) and The Music Project (Sri Lanka), with a focus on music education in postwar regions. As founder of the Banda Sinfónica Metropolitana de Bogotá and co-founder of Camerata 33 (Pittsburgh's first Latin-American chamber orchestra), he has significantly impacted musical landscapes. His artistic residencies include collaborations with the National Ballet of Cuba and Sinfónica Cundinamarca (Colombia).

His creative work includes compositions like Music in a Social Distance for Non-Conventional Instruments and Retazos for Solo Instruments, performed internationally. He actively engages with both academic and popular music groups in the Pittsburgh area.
