Camilla Buzzi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Welfare, Management and Organisation at Østfold University. She holds a PhD in Human Rights and Peace Studies from Mahidol University (Thailand) and a Cand.polit. in Political Science from the University of Oslo. Her academic interests focus on human rights, peacebuilding in conflict zones, and Myanmar's political dynamics. She teaches courses in social work and psychosocial studies, including thesis supervision in the Master's programme.
Her research examines human rights activism in Myanmar, global-local connections ('glocal' dynamics), and discourse analysis. Notable works include analyses of UNSCR 1325's application in Myanmar and the role of digital platforms in mass atrocity prevention. She has authored over 50 publications spanning academic journals, books, and media articles.
Buzzi previously worked in development aid and advocacy, including roles with Norwegian Church Aid and PD Burma. She has conducted peer reviews for journals like the Journal of International Development and Global Responsibility to Protect. Her work frequently critiques corporate accountability in conflict zones and Norwegian foreign policy toward Myanmar.
She participates in research groups focused on psychosocial work and interdisciplinary education innovation. Her current projects explore transnational corporate responsibility and the digital dimensions of human rights advocacy.
