Cameron Tiede

Cameron Tiede is an Associate Chair and Professor of Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). He holds an M.F.A. and B.F.A. in Illustration from SCAD and ArtCenter College of Design, respectively, and an A.S.A. in Graphic Design from Brigham Young University. His academic leadership includes course development, mentorship, and studio guidance for students in illustration and design programs.

Professional experience spans over 15 years in design leadership roles, including Trend and Product Design Manager at Michaels Stores Inc., where he contributed to $2 billion in annual sales. He has also led original product design ventures like Wood Candy Workshop and the 13 Friends Product Line, showcasing expertise in toy design, licensing, and global market engagement. Notable collaborations include work with Disney, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros., and DreamWorks, emphasizing his cross-industry creative impact.

Tiede's art has been featured internationally in venues such as The Andy Warhol Museum, Petersen Automotive Museum, and galleries in Tokyo, London, and Chicago. His recognition includes the 2014 Best Emerging Artist Award. His creative practice blends fine art, commercial design, and educational innovation, with a focus on nurturing student artists and driving design excellence.
