Dr. Cameron McFarlane is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Nipissing University, specializing in English Studies. He holds a PhD from the University of Western Ontario and MA/BA degrees from McMaster University.
His research examines Restoration and eighteenth-century British literature through interdisciplinary lenses including gender, sexuality, and cultural studies. His current major project investigates passionate male friendships in the Restoration era, analyzing historical transformations of classical friendship traditions and their relationship to period understandings of gender and sexuality. Additional projects include co-editing a cultural studies anthology and collaborating on research about contemporary reinterpretations of Restoration plays.
