Cameron Browne

Cameron Browne is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Florida and specializes in applying differential equations and dynamical systems to infectious disease modeling. His research program spans within-host virus dynamics, between-host transmission, and eco-evolutionary network models connecting viral genetics with immune response dynamics.

His work focuses on COVID-19 intervention strategies, cholera ecology, HIV/SIV evolution, and optimal treatment protocols. Funded by NSF grants, Dr. Browne develops mathematical frameworks to analyze viral fitness landscapes, contact tracing efficacy, and outbreak control measures. His research integrates epidemiological modeling with evolutionary genetics through phylodynamic approaches.
