About
Dr. Cameron Bastow is a Research Fellow at Monash University's Centre for Inflammatory Disease, specializing in immune responses to sepsis using intravital microscopy. He holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide (2021) and a BSc in Molecular Biology (2011). His research focuses on sepsis, infection and immunity mechanisms, cell migration dynamics, and stromal immunology. He is the lead investigator for the 2025 project 'Targeting metabolism to improve sepsis recovery.'
Education:
- PhD: Novel Modes of Chemokine-Driven Leukocyte Migration, University of Adelaide (2021)
- Bachelor of Science (Molecular Biology), University of Adelaide (2011)
Research Interests: Investigating innate immune responses in non-lymphoid organs, chemokine receptor functions, and immune cell trafficking. His work contributes to UN SDGs related to health and well-being. Recent studies include T-cell migratory patterns in glioblastoma and roles of ACKR4 in B cell fate.
Grants & Projects:
- 2025: 'Targeting metabolism to improve sepsis recovery' (Primary Chief Investigator)
Labs/Teams: Neuroinflammation group within the Centre for Inflammatory Disease. Collaborations span immunology, microscopy, and clinical research.
