Dr. Calvin Machaya is a Lecturer in Accounting & Finance at the Hull University Business School, part of the Faculty of Business, Law and Politics at the University of Hull. He holds a PhD in Management Accounting (University of Salford), an MBA in Finance (Wrexham Glyndwr University), and an MSc in Accounting & Finance (University of Northampton). He is a Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and CIMA Global Mentor. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Climate Change Action NGO.
His research focuses on sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental and Social Accounting, Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), and the application of Structuration Theory in Management Accounting. He advocates for practice-based teaching methods and leads Placement and Internship programs at HUBS. Calvin teaches modules such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Entrepreneurship Accounting.
