C. Michael Sampson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics at the Faculty of Arts, University of Manitoba. Holding a PhD in Classical Studies (2009) from the University of Michigan, an MA in Classics (2003) from Dalhousie University, and a BA (First Class Honours) in Classics and Early Modern Studies (2001) from the University of King's College, Sampson is a broadly trained philologist specializing in Greek and Latin literature with a focus on poetry, and a papyrologist working on fragmentary texts from Egypt.
- Research interests: Greek/Latin literature, papyrology, reception studies, Hellenistic literature
- Current project: The Books of Karanis (interdisciplinary study of Greek literary culture in Egypt)
