Burkhard Schmidt

Burkhard Schmidt is a researcher at the Weierstrass-Institut Berlin since October 2022, working on the MaRDI project and SemQuTech focus platform. Previously, he held positions at Freie Universität Berlin (2000–2022), Zuse Institut Berlin (1999–2000), and the Max-Planck-Institut für Strömungsforschung (1988–1992, 1994–1999). His research spans theoretical and computational chemistry, molecular dynamics, and atomic/molecular physics.

His work focuses on reaction dynamics, molecular clusters, and computational methods in chemistry and physics. He has collaborated internationally, including postdoctoral stints at the University of California (Irvine), Hebrew University (Jerusalem), and University of Washington (Seattle).
