Burkhard Rost

Prof. Burkhard Rost is a Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) since 2009, holding the Chair of Bioinformatics within the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology. His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning with evolutionary biology to predict protein function, structure, and interactions. He aims to advance early disease detection and treatment through computational methods.

Education:

• Bachelor/Master in Physics, History, and Philosophy from Universities of Giessen and Heidelberg
• PhD from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in 1994
