Buket AVCI is a Full-time Assistant Professor of Operations Management (Education) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. She holds a PhD in Technology and Operations Management from INSEAD (2014), along with MSc degrees in Management (INSEAD) and Industrial Engineering (Bogazici University), and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Bogazici University (2005).
Her research focuses on Sustainable Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and Behavioral Operations Management. Notable work includes studies on biomass commercialization, waste-to-energy conversions, and the environmental impacts of electric vehicle infrastructure. Her research has been published in top journals like Management Science and Production and Operations Management.
AVCI has received multiple teaching accolades, including the Dean's Teaching Honor List (2015–2024) and the SMU Most Promising Teaching Award nomination. Her awards also include recognition for research excellence, such as the INFORMS TIMES Best Paper Award (2020) and prizes in student paper competitions (2012).
Her current research explores sustainable sourcing in urban water management and community-supported agriculture, alongside strategic infrastructure planning for battery switching systems.
