Bruce T. Draine

Bruce T. Draine is Professor of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University. His research focuses on interstellar dust physics, including light scattering models, grain composition, and radiative transfer. He developed the DDSCAT code for electromagnetic scattering calculations and authored the textbook Physics of the Interstellar and Intergalactic Medium.

Key contributions include dust property mapping in M31 and KINGFISH galaxies, studies of X-ray scattering halos, and models of microwave emission from interstellar grains. He has received NSF and NASA funding for astrophysical studies of diffuse matter.
