Bruce Ferrin

Dr. Bruce Ferrin is a Professor of Marketing at the Haworth College of Business, Western Michigan University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Logistics from Pennsylvania State University (1991) and an M.S. in Transportation and Logistics from Iowa State University (1985). With over 20 years of experience in business logistics management and scholarship, he joined WMU in 1998. Previously, he served as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Arkansas and spent seven years at Arizona State University in logistics faculty roles.

His research focuses on transportation and logistics, with publications in journals like the Journal of Business Logistics, Transportation Journal, and Decision Sciences. He has conducted sponsored research in Central and Western Europe, presenting at institutions such as the Technical University of Budapest and the Hungarian Logistics Association. Ferrin has also consulted for firms including AlliedSignal, Pacific Bell, and GEZE Door Products of Germany.

Prior to academia, he worked in dispatch and dock supervision in the less-than-truckload motor carrier industry.
