Brittany Adams

Brittany Adams is an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy and Director & Chair of the Occupational Therapy program at Western New England University. Since joining the university in 2017, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the program, including leading the student-led BEAR PAW Center focused on equity and rehabilitation. Her clinical expertise spans neurorehabilitation, physical dysfunction, seating and positioning, and emerging interests in driving rehabilitation.

Dr. Adams's research emphasizes leadership, the impact of environmental contexts on student learning, and inclusive teaching methodologies. She actively mentors students through doctoral capstone projects and engages in classroom-laboratory instruction. Her professional involvement includes serving as Vice President for the Massachusetts Association for Occupational Therapy (MAOT) and as an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

Outside academia, she prioritizes occupational balance through travel, camping, and time with her family—husband Nick, sons Jack and Weston, and dog Denver.
