Brigit M. Carter is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion at Duke University School of Nursing. She joined the faculty in 2010 and teaches in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program, with expertise in pediatrics and professional nursing.

Dr. Carter serves as a board member of the North Carolina Nursing Association and has 26 years of U.S. Navy service, currently as a Commander in the Navy Reserves at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
