Bridget Murphy

Bridget Murphy is an Assistant Research Professor at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, University of Arizona, specializing in Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Research for substance use and mental health interventions. She earned a Doctorate in Behavioral Health (DBH) and a Master’s in Education from the University of Arizona.

Her research focuses on addressing substance use, mental health, and related infectious diseases among culturally diverse populations, with a particular emphasis on rural opioid stewardship and workforce development. She leads initiatives such as the Arizona Department of Health Services Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) contract and chairs the University of Arizona Interprofessional Education and Practice group on opioid use disorder.

Dr. Murphy also directs undergraduate education programs, including the Drugs and Society course, and advises student clubs focused on public health and overdose prevention.
