Brianna Yoder, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), housed within the University College. A UTSA alumna herself, she returned to her alma mater after completing her MPA and Ph.D. in Public Administration (with a nonprofit management focus) at the University of Georgia. Her teaching emphasizes empowering students to craft personalized academic pathways, reflecting her own journey as one of UTSA's first Multidisciplinary Studies graduates (2012).
Dr. Yoder’s professional background includes work in Texas political campaigns and a commitment to innovative pedagogy. She incorporates creative teaching methods, such as anime-themed PowerPoint slides, to engage students. Her research interests intersect nonprofit management, public administration, and the application of multidisciplinary approaches to education. She is also actively involved in advising students to align their degree paths with personal and professional aspirations.
Outside academia, she is an avid crocheter, cross-stitcher, and Pokémon Go player, and shares a love for football (and UTSA) with her wife, whom she met during her time as a Supplemental Instruction Leader at UTSA.
