Dr. Brian Merkel is a Professor and Chair of Human Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, with a 28-year tenure teaching immunology, advanced microbiology, and public health-related courses. He serves as a pre-health advisor for human biology and biology students and advises UW-Green Bay’s chapter of the national biological honor society, Tri-Beta.
- Education: Ph.D. (1994) from Virginia Commonwealth University; B.S. (1989) from the University of Richmond.
His research focuses on the effects of environmental toxicants and herbal supplements on immune function, using cell, animal, and human models.
