Amanda Nelson, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and serves as Associate Dean for the College of Science, Engineering and Technology. She holds a dual appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor at MCW-Green Bay's medical school. Dr. Nelson earned her B.A. from Buena Vista University and M.S./Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Research Focus
Her research examines exercise physiology with specialization in:
- Neural adaptations across the lifespan
- Glucocorticoid responses to exercise
- Neuroplasticity in cardiorespiratory/locomotor systems
- Movement analysis for injury prevention
