Brian Hasse

Brian Hasse is a military professor of national security affairs at the United States Naval War College (Newport, RI) and concurrently a first-year graduate student in international relations at Brown University's Political Science Department. He holds a visiting scholar appointment at Brown's Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs.

His expertise spans air warfare, foreign policy analysis, leadership ethics, and joint operational warfare, with research interests focusing on political psychology, conflict management, and national security decision-making.

Prior to academia, Hasse served as a career naval aviator with 3,000+ hours in FA-18 aircraft, including six combat deployments. His military staff roles included advising U.S. Northern Command on critical infrastructure resilience and commanding Strike Fighter Squadron 22.
