John Klein

Dr. John J. Klein is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgetown University's Center for Security Studies and holds concurrent positions as Senior Fellow and Strategist at Falcon Research, Inc., and Adjunct Professor at George Washington University's Space Policy Institute. His expertise encompasses space strategy, deterrence theory, and the Law of Armed Conflict, with published works including Understanding Space Strategy: The Art of War in Space (2019) and Space Warfare: Strategy, Principles and Policy (2006).

As a retired U.S. Navy Commander with 22 years of service, Dr. Klein served as a Naval Flight Officer in S-3B Viking carrier-based aircraft, supporting combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. His command roles included Executive Officer of Sea Control Squadron Twenty Four and Commanding Officer of Sea Control Weapons School.

His academic credentials include:

• Master's in Aeronautical Engineering from Naval Postgraduate School
• Master's in National Security and Strategic Studies from Naval War College
