Dr. Brian A. Burt is Professor and Director of Wisconsin's Equity and Inclusion Laboratory (Wei LAB) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education. His research examines graduate student experiences, institutional policies influencing academic pathways, and underrepresented students in engineering.
His work employs qualitative methodologies to investigate team-based research experiences and racial equity in STEM education. Publications explore research group dynamics, culturally responsive advising frameworks, and strategies for broadening participation in engineering. Research consistently addresses systemic barriers affecting Black males in graduate programs.
